Looking for feedback on durable red dot sights to install on my Desert Eagle. I know Ultradots are good as I own a couple but on this pistol want something smaller. Since a lot of guys here shoot the big stuff like 480, 475 and 500 Linebaugh was hoping to get some good feedback on what models last.

My Delta Point Pro has held up well on my FA 454.

Thunderjet, I have a Leupold delta pro point on my 10" Desert Eagle 44mg. I had to make a shim as the Leupold picatanny mount would not clamp down on the DE rail. Other than that it is the one I would choose. Mark

I tried a Tru-glo red dot on my .50AE, and it lasted only a couple of shots before it dis-assembled. I put an old Bushnell 2x scope that I had used previously on another Desert Eagle that I had owned in the past. It's a lot bulkier than the red dot, but so far it has held up fine.

I put a Burris ff3 on my BFR 500 jrh maybe have 50 to 60 rounds on it and has held up so far. Had another on a g40 glock that I shot quiet a bit and it held up fine. The Trijicon is the best but pricey.

I have two Burris Fastfire 3’s on .22’s with no issues. Made the mistake of buying to small of a dot. A shooter needs a lot of practice to pick up the dot fast. One reason why wanting to try a different brand. Tons of choices today so keep the comments coming

I feel just the opposite about dot size. The first one that I bought was a vortex venom with a 6 moa dot, and it always looked starburst, even at the lowest setting. The vortex venoms are good dots though, I have had one on a 41 magnum for several years, and it has held up well.

This Trijicon has done well on my 500... This Burris fast fire 3 has done well on my 44...

Not a big boomer, but I used a Venom on my steel challenge .38 super. Did over 50,000 rounds on it with no problems. May try it on my .475L BFR if it ever gets here.

A brother of mine has a Vortex Venom on his FA 454. Just put it on this past fall, but so far so good. Says he’s never shot the gun as well as he does now.

I have a vortex venom on my FA 454 with a plethora of shots through it. Zero issues. That being said, my overall favorite RDS is the trijicon rmr.

Think I will try the Vortex Venom next. Reasonable price, good reviews, 6 MOA dot, and lifetime warranty
Jeffer, how is that sight attached to your 500?

It sits atop a Reeder custom base.
