Amongst the few gifts received, family agreed to tone things down gift and money-wise, a couple of stand outs. 9oz of TB ! 200 WLP ! Just got a phone call, sad. An older friend that moved off to nearby Erie is fading. His stepson also a friend, called and asked me if I'd take as a gift, a TC 444 handgun. Condition is that I use it ! I'm the only one he knows that might want it to use, reloads, etc.. Sigh.

I got a selection of moustache and beard balm/wax. And a meat and cheese fancy gift basket from little brother.
No gun related stuff. I spent enough on that myself during the year...

To me it kind of says something about you that your friends would make that sort of gift to you. They know you'll shoot it and remember. That would be an important gift to me as I'm sure it will be to you.

I have "last wish" guns here too. They get used.
From the in-laws I got a nice heavy Orvis plaid wool field shirt and some beard potion.
The shirt will be useful for the winter. I definitely felt like a winner with that gift.

I received the best Christmas gift of my life! My father gave me my grandfather's Ruger 41mag. I always wanted that gun. I done a bunch of work on that gun for my grandfather about 20 years ago. I shortened the barrel to 5", converted it to a Bisley, timed it, and set the trigger up at very crisp 3 lbs. It's probably the most accurate 41 I've ever shot. Now I have it, and it's going to go to one of my sons. Not until I shot thousands of rounds through it though. Lol
I'd be interested in a MP 413-640 HP mold if anyone has one they wanna part with.

The wife has taken to looking through the Filson catalogs and I mentioned that I used to have one of the blue and black plaid Filson hunting coats years ago. Someone lightfingered it when I had it hung up one day so she surprised me with a new version. Totally knocked my socks off.

the blue and black plaid Filson hunting coats I got one of those last year from the in-laws, but from Orvis. Very similar to the Filson. They know that I love the classic wool outdoor wear.

I got a prepaid card from the ol lady with $3000 on it she said is to be used only for a custom revolver since I drool over all the beautiful pieces posted on here! Glad she got bored at home since her kids moved out and wanted to go back to work! She can be really wonderful sometimes.

On a different vein, 3 Calvin and Hobbes collectors editions! One of the few comic strips I ever loved. Wife gobsmacked me with the gift. Totally surprised and pleased. The seed was planted when we were talking about "cartooning" and it's impact on the culture, one evening on a car trip back from Coeur d'Alene.

Nothing much yet. Got a Blade magazine and Rosemary tree and a caramel apple. Main Christmas celebration here will be January 9th. With all family members deemed essential they get together as a family when we can.

The six year old grandson is learning to read via his Calvin and Hobbes books. Pretty good but my favorite is still Gary Larson and The Far Side material, As a Biology teacher I really enjoy the fact that he had a science background as well and incorporated science in his cartoons.
