I have been carrying a Single Action Ruger Blackhawk for over fifteen years now. Just recently got a gun belt and holsters for two of my Ruger .45s. The plain one is by Doc Barranti, the basket weave from Bayou Custom Holsters. The belt is by Doc Barranti. I have been using holster that fit my trousers belt until recently. Bob Wright

I really like the Doc Barranti holster, and would love a cross draw version. Both are nice as is Doc's holster.

This is the No. 1 Schuck without the band, or cuff. I wear this on my pants belt. Bob Wright

Nice. I bet the wide gun belt is a bit more comfortable than a pants belt. My 30 year old el Paso rig is pretty much shot. I really like that Doc Barranti. This forum just won't stop costing me money! I'm going to need overtime until I retire.

Bob the only thing that surpasses your taste in fine leather is your taste in fine SA revolvers. Tom

BOB: VERY NICE GUNS AND LEATHER. I MOSTLY CARRY WITH A SEPARATE GUN BELT, RARELY, AND I MEAN VERY RARELY, DO I USE MY PANTS BELT FOR HOLSTER USE TOO.

With degenerative disc disease & bulging discs at L4/L5 & L5/S10, hip carry just doesn't work for me, even with a proper belt.
I like my Simply Rugged Sourdough/Chesty Puller rig for my 5.5" .41 Bisley, with the maddening exception of the weak side shoulder strap refusing to stay in place & constantly slipping off my shoulder & trying to dump my gun while I'm kneeling on the ground field stripping a deer. I'm not a bony little dude neither, so I don't know what's up with that.
I did just order an EPS Tanker holster & their nifty 3x2 ammo pouch slide in russet with fish scale stamping for my 5.5" & 6.5" Blackhawks & those social occasions revolving around the consumption of slow cooked meats & sippin' on a Mason jar.
I plan on either the Ringler Wyoming Combination or Mr. Barranti's Northwest Hunter "next" for my BisHunter.
