I love Mikes stuff Have two of his now. And contemplating a 3rd, But i need to say the pancake style from simply rugged is hard to beat for simplicity versatility quality construction and value. I love the4 5/8ths Barrel Rugers. With the simply Rugged sourdough Pancake, You can go Cross draw or strongside, with complete satisfaction. And you can get it fancy if you want. And with a Smaller gun you could add inside the belt to the same holster. It is just dandy. If you are going through rough terrain a bunch you could add a removable hammer strap. I don't know if Rob designed it ,or not, but he sure makes a great product at a great price. When i get my Bearcat back From Bobby Tyler, I will show off the Fancy flowered one Rob made me. I might order a second holster for the same gun from Mike Barranti just because i love quality leather and to support good honest American business men ! ...tj

I have several carved Simply Rugged holsters - pretty sure they are done by Rick Geitlen (SP?) - very nicely done. . . . Picked these up off of Simply Rugged's Gear Ready to Go page. Paul

Rob's come a long way. One of his originals - when he was still in Idaho (before he went to Alaska) - hand sewn I think. Rob hates it when I post this picture. My all day, every day carry rig for the better part of a decade. Never came off my pants belt except to change pants. Truely Simply Rugged! Paul

He should be proud of that holster ,not hate it. After a decade of everyday hard use, doing what it is supposed to do [protect the gun]it looks very good. Well used but ready for another 10 years.

I have a lot of holsters, but my favorite holsters are from Mike B. and Rob L. both make great products made to use a lifetime and be proud to hand down! This was my first holster from Rob,, but a long way from last. It caries the DW V-BOB nearly everyday, left right outside inside I got the straps to use it any way I want, but usually inside the waist year round! I have prettier, but I don't own a holster that gets more use!

I've only got one of his rigs, a shoulder holster for a Ruger Hunter with scope. Rugged for sure, and well made. It takes a lot of leather to wrap a gun like that, then add on the wing portion and you're wearing half a cow all said and done.

Paul ***** Paul.... this old scabbard appears in need of a drink. I’d heat clear mineral oil and stir in shavings go beeswax, apply outside & in. To add years more life to the leather. Likewise the holster in Wildcatter’s post. Providing the leather doesn’t live in the hot humid South, various animal oils, including Neatsfoot Oil, help keep the fibers from drying out and breaking. And today with neatsfoot, to heat and mix in beeswax should help hold whatever water-molded stiffness remains. David Bradshaw

I love Rob's holsters. He used to sew holsters in the school bus he drove right around the corner from where we lived in Eagle River.
Mike's are awesome as well. I love my Hanks Sloan for my 24.

My most used holsters are Simply Rugged. I'm not real fond of the larger pancakes as they kind of bear on my hip bones but love his version of the Lawrence 120 design. My main CCW holster is a discontinued version of the silver dollar pancake with inside the waistband metal clips. I've been wearing one of his belts daily for about 10 years now as well with no end in sight.

I have had many holsters, but the versatility of the Sour Dough and the Silver Dollar as well as comfort while wearing them is hard to beat. Last week I ordered three more!
