I watched a video today(capandball) where he reviewed a Hawken muzzle-loading rifle. Most of the video comments said "I have always wanted one, since I first watched Jeremiah Johnson! I still don't own one..." That's a sub-$500 gun that ships straight to your door! Why haven't you bought one yet??
So, my question to you is, what Gun haven't you done yet?
For me, it's a Henry 22 lever gun. It could have been my first gun. Or my second. Or my third. Over a decade later, I still don't have one, but I still want it.
Also on the list is a Colt cartridge conversion. Or a S&W Shofield. or a Marlin 357. All guns that are made and sold every day. I want them and I still don't have them. Why?
What's yours?
(edit: This isn't political. I could have made the same title any day in 2020!)

A late friend dearly loved shooting her early Henry Golden Boy .22 Long Rifle. When I shot it, I understood why. Super smooth action and very accurate. Smoother feeding than the sweet little Marlin Mountie take-down which, along with a K-22, proved an important source of my protein in college. David Bradshaw

I’ve been buying, selling and trading guns for 40 years and I’ve owned just about everything at one time or another. A couple that have evaded me and I still hope to get someday are a Colt SAA and a Savage 99. I have always admired them but never pulled the trigger on buying them.

The world ends in 10 days.....I guess I would be SOL since a Bowen Classic Arms .475 Linebaugh waiting list is a bit longer than 10 days. My luck I'd get hit by a meteorite the size of a VW on the first day of the countdown.😳

For me, I guess it would have to be a Holland and Holland double rifle. Probably one of the smallest calibers they make since there are no Cape Buff roaming wild in South Texas. Of course I doubt I could get my mortgage to go through in 10 days.

I guess my time has come & gone... at one time I really wanted an 44 Auto Mag, to add to my Automag collection... but since that is now sold... it would be pointless to buy one... a rifle I always wanted, & never seemed to get my hands on, was a Savage / Stevens model 30 in 22 LR ( 22 LR not being a cartridge I shoot much, as I'm pretty much known as a reloader ) may have something to do with that??? but still would buy one today... they used to have some nice limited edition guns in this model & caliber... today this was the only I could find listed on Gunbroker... www.gunbroker.com/item/879294696where I'm at in my life right now... I only have 2 guns on my "to buy" list... a BFR in 45-70, & a 480- Ruger lever action...

The guns on my short list of "wish I had" revolve around my Ruger collecting. And when presented with an opportunity to own one at a fair price,, I do buy them. I'd say I've gotten all the guns that I "desired" over the years,, as I learned long ago to not hesitate when one came along that I wanted. My one & only nemesis was a Ruger Hawkeye for 35 years. At the tender age of 17,, I fired my first one,, saying; "I gotta get me one of these." Yet,, as a young man,, my gun funds were limited,, and when I'd find one,, I was either broke,, or didn't have enough money to close a deal. And when I'd have money,, none seemed to be available. Finally, after 35 years,, a nice condition Hawkeye with a scope came along. It had been D&Ted on the topstrap,, (by some idiot) so it wasn't as expensive as it could have been. I got my first one. Now,, I own 3 of them,, recently adding the 3rd one,, for less than what I gave for my 1st one. (Go figure.)
So,, for me,, the world can end,, and I'll go,, knowing I did get the guns I wanted!

AT 76, AND WITH OVER 50 YEARS OF GUN ACCUMULATING (MOSTLY HANDGUNS), I HAVE QUIT BUYING GUNS JUST TO OWN THEM, RESERVING MY ACCUMULATING TO HANDGUNS THAT I WILL USE, AND RIGHT NOW I AM NOT EVEN LOOKING FOR ANY GUN TO ACCUMULATE. HAVING SAID THAT, AND GOD FORGIVE ME, IF I WAS GOING TO BUY JUST 1 MORE GUN FOR THE HECK OF IT, IT WOULD BE A rifle, A LEVER ACTION IN 45 COLT, PREFERRABLY WITH A 16 INCH OCTAGON BARREL, AND SCOPEABLE, BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT RUGER MAY TEMPT US WITH NOW THAT THEY OWN MARLIN?

10 days left Sorry , probably not gonna worry about another gun . Just not enough time to get the dies from the slooow shipping from Midway anyway . My 10 days would probably be about eating. You know , all the stuff the panels of experts and your wife tell you is gonna kill you if you enjoy it.

Maybe not in the spirit of the OP, but with 10 days left, gonna try real hard to use up ALL of the loaded ammunition here. Won't worry about cleaning the guns. OK,OK, a 3rd model Dragoon replica. Yes, can pick up the phone and order one, but haven't.

USFA Lightning in 38-40
Maybe a Kings Conversion SAA or a Linabaugh built SAA or Dustin built 38-40
There aren't many guns on my bucket list that I could scrounge up in 10 days, but buying a gun isn't how I'd be spending that time anyways.

To be honest, not a single gun. I am very fortunate in that I’ve filled my bucket list of firearms. Sure there are a couple still out getting finished but I can’t control the speed with which they get done.

I see the Henry mentioned above, I bought a like new used one in .22 Mag a couple years ago and immediately wondered why I hadn’t bought one before. Excellent accuracy and workmanship for the price. Another mention was the Savage 99. I’ve owned two, one I traded away, one I gave to my son-in-law. He still has it. One I would buy if the price was right would be a 99 in .358 Win., just to own it, maybe pop a few hogs. I have a lot of handguns, but my thirst is never really slaked in that regard. What I do not have is a truly custom SA revolver. At almost 74, I probably should have several, Lord knows I’ve spent enough money on other things........

I feel the same way friend and I'm only 36, I finally just sent an old model 357 Blackhawk to Clements for a build, may be my only true custom built for me, but at least I'll have the one. Been planning on several for 20 years. One day I finally realized how much and how fast time was passing.

I have been deep into guns since the early 1950`s. Used to turn them over at gunshows in the 70`s and 80`s. Would guess I have turned over 300-400 fine classic vintage desirable guns in that time and kept about fifty. Now in my infirm old age they never see the light of day in quite a few years. I know I should start letting go of many but have a hard time letting go. Our greed exceedith our need. I still dream about finding another Winchester 92 and converting it to .256 Win mag. I still dream about finding a blue 3" Python. However I already own a 2 1/2" Nickle and a 4" blue and they hardly ever get shot. Fine if you got the bucks and both you and wife have big money coming in but I think we need to get real.
