I final got around to swapping my plow handle 41 mag hunter grip frame to a bisley. I still have a little more filling and polishing to do. But I like it a lot better . I swapped the frame trigger and hammer all to the bisley. Had a set of the reddish ruger grips from a 480 ruger not best fit in the world on the grips but turned out pretty good for me doing it. Can't wait to get it to the range now .

Nice! Please post pics when you can. I did the exact same conversion a while back and love the results.

Looking forward to the pics. I love my hunters. Especially love the way they shoot. I saw posts about 4" to 5" 100 yard groups and my 41 and 44 have shot 1.5" groups. I think my son's 45s will do that as well.

singleactions.proboards.com/thread/28081/45-colt-hunter-upgrade-picturesI too am a fan of the Ruger Hunters. I had the 45 Hunter in the above thread improved by Dave Clements and Gary Reeder (Grips). I've seriously considering a Bisley Hunter 44 Magnum and have it customized along with an auxiliary cylinder in 44-40 WCF. I really hope you can share some pictures of your project.

I have to agree, I have the three Hunter Bisleys and all three shoot very well. The 45 still my favorite but the 41 is growing on me

Had a pair of .41s at one time...sold them off several years ago. Last fall found a SBH Hunter with scope for a decent price and bought it... Shot this group a few weeks before I sold it... ...I always throw one...

RJM, did you only throw a shot with that revolver or is that part for the course with all your pistol/revolver shooting? I found I was throwing one every single cylinder with my .41. I then decided to mark the cylinder to see if there was a coincidence. There was. That chamber always threw it. I measured and found out it was much tighter than the rest. I then reamed them and everything tightened..... drastically

If i ever have time to figure out how to post pics . 😆 lol. The grips came off of a ruger 480 with 4 5/8 barrel . So they are a good bit undersided. And still need to do a little more filing and sanding but I am really happy with it. Its not professional by no means . At the point it is at right now its close enough that I have to run my finger nail across to feel the edge. Lol my close up vision is starting to fade a little and just can't make myself get some reading glasses yet.

I am getting ready to do the same Bisley swap as well. I like to lightly round the Bisley grip frame and panels. It just feels good in my hand.
