I got this "like new" Barranti Outfitter holster from a member here. It's plain but goes well with my 4-5/8" Blackhawk. You can spot quality leather from across the room and this is "Quality". Just got the .45 Colt cylinder back from Fermin and it is now .4525" and ready to go. This will be my knock-about truck from now on.

Am not sure what you mean by "thing". I like the wide set to the flap rolled over, holster more stable. Then the slot, or hole, maybe two reasons, save weight, and can be centered over a belt loop on your pants, holster kinda locked in place then. OP or Doc, how'd I do ?

[/quote] ***** Reckon this is Doc Barranti's way to adjust carry location on waist, as many pants makers locate belt loops in disregard of elemental concealment. David Bradshaw

Bula and Mr. Bradshaw are correct. The beltloop slot cut allows you to position the holster directly over your pants loop which gives you greater flexibility in positioning the holster and anchors the holster in place greatly increasing stability on the belt.

Nice leather,, (as it always is!) And if anybody wonders why we nicknamed Mike "Doc" it's because of these little details he incorporates into his craftsmanship that put his work above & beyond most.
Skeeter once said; "Next to my Doctor,, my holster maker is one of the most important people in my life." (well, not those exact words,, but you understand!) Our own "Doc" Barranti is good enough to be as important as our doctors!
And sometimes folks wonder why I keep getting his leather. I remember several years ago,, when Doc came to visit the Ruger Collectors along with Tank. He had brought along a few "extra" shucks for sale. I was lucky enough to see them first & got first choice. Still makes me smile! I knew they would not make the rounds before someone else snagged them. Excellent quality work is to be appreciated & if possible owned!

ALSO, WHAT IS THAT THING ON THE BACK OF THE HOLSTER? I know it could use some nicer grips but these are way better than the giant Hogue's that it had when I got it. I had these old Pachy's in a junk drawer. They work great but aren't pretty. I'll get to that someday soon.

That’s sure nice, I’m a big fan of the LHC and consider it as good as it gets but could see myself trying one of these.
