Does anyone know if the skinny barrels from SW 27’s and 28’s can be used on Rugers??? Or are they too skinny??? I know the heavy profile N frame barrels are OK but I don’t recall seeing one with the skinny 27/28 barrels.

Never seen one. Like David said...might look a "little" odd.
Another thing is the thickness. Don't know if there is enough meat to even attach the ERH.

That’s what I was thinking as well, but wanted to check first. I may look for a nice donor 27/28 and screw the 8 3/8” barrel to it and make a hunting gun out of it.

I don't think my eyes could stand the shock and strain. But that's just me. As to using the stepped barrel of a 27 on a Ruger SA (if that's what you meant) there would still be dragons with the ERH.

I've often thought about having one done up like this not so much like a tapered s&w barrel but an even more abrupt taper like you find on some rifle barrels or early Colt DA barrels. You could have a base for the erh much like a quarter rib on a rifle. There would be enough meat in the barrel toward the frame to screw the rib into the barrel and solder it as well to support the front end. The ERH would then screw into the rib in normal fashion. Two things have kept me from pursuing this. I think it would be horrendously expensive, and I'm not sure if would make for a pleasing look at the end of the day.

David, it was a case of,...I couldn’t bear to pass up the deal on the barrel and now I need a home for it!!! Growing up my Dad had a friend that we always referred to as Uncle Dick and I always liked his SW 27.

Re-bore the barrel to .45 and find a M27 and a M57 cylinder and you can have a dandy .45 Colt!

A tapered ribbed barrel might look ok with no ejector. Think a ribbed version of a croft lightweight.

The ejector rod housing issue is more a problem of contouring the housing to mate to the barrel contour. Lots of additive process there, lots of bench work.
Adding a threaded boss to the barrel for attachment is comparitavely simple.
There's also a different approach, the lift-out DA type cylinder with extractor as seen on the Bowen Sedgley revolver.

I wanted Hamilton to build me a Lift out cylinder single action like he shows on his website but he said not available at this stage of his career. Bummer! This was lat last summer when I talked to him about it.
