Hi fellas,
Got a new revolver on the way and I am excited. What advice do you have on reloading this cartridge?
Do I need to use Rifle Primers or just Magnum Pistol Primers?
Also, what dies are recommended?

Large pistol, depending on powder used magnum primer. As for dies I use Hornady 44 mag dies but any good 44 mag dies will work. I also use the Redding profile crimp die to crimp my loads but a good roll crimp works as well. My favorite loads run 300gr-320gr bullets and I don't try and push them super hard. I also like using hard cast bullets sized properly for the gun.

IIRC Taffin used large pistol magnum primers
Todd Spotti recommended large rifle in the 414 SuperMag
Hodgdon lists large rifle for their loads
I suspect you could use either in the 445

I made these bullets figuring one day I would buy a firearm strong enough to handle them. (NEI/SSK 310 429) If you would like to try some all I would ask is you pay the shipping and a little bit for the lead. Happy Shooting! Boats

FWIW, There is 445 load data in the Accurate Arms manual.
