I'll pass... this one almost never leaves my belt... What slug at what FPS are you using in that work of art? Thanks Justin

Matt's 250 grain wadcutters... www.mattsbullets.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=317&zenid=j9on0niu431cis70815h3upkf4ballpark of 900 fps... a very accurate load in this gun ... & I wouldn't call it a work of art... anymore than I'd call a framing hammer a work of art, on a carpenter's belt Though I'll likely be sending this one out for some engraving once I get my Dave Clements modified 10mm Rimmed GP-100 back from the engraver ( supposed to be here today ) & get the loads dialed in on that gun... then the 10mm can take the 45's place on my belt long enough for this 45 to get engraved... then the 45 will be back to daily duty again... the polished stainless finish seems to be the most user friendly for touch ups to life's daily dings... that bullet is a flying trashcan

Maybe not a work of art, but I like it a lot. My dad built one similar to that. His has a 3” octagon barrel and a SBH grip frame that I cut and bent like a Birdshead. Justin

This grip frame was a Ruger factory stainless Single Six Bird's head grip... when I built this, they didn't offer birdsheads on the Vaqueros or Montados... this is a factory 45 Colt Montado with the grip frame switched, the barrel chopped, & the thumb nail cuts to the cylinder for case extraction... grips are checkered buffalo horn, & were not fit to the gun... so they are OK... but I still want to send out the grip frame & get some fitted grips... Zane at LSCG has really spoiled me with the custom fit grips... I don't think I'd go checkered next time, as they are abrasive to the skin op my hip, during the summer when I'm dressed lighter... I'm also going to checker file the front site & have it inked when the engraving gets done, to cut the glare on the front sight

looks like a very practical gun... your grip mod looks great Thanks, It serves it purpose. That gun is just a bunch of extra parts put together. Wasn’t going for anything special, except a single action that could be used as a CCW gun. Dad didn’t really care what it looked like. Just wanted to build something different to us. Justin
