From what I have read, don't use HOPPE'S #9 to clean it...one guy over on the S&W Forums took the blue right off his brand new 29 Classic. There is a warning in the brochure that comes with the gun about certain types of cleaners. Apparently S&W changed their bluing process as the old guns were just fine with about any kind of cleaner...

I've been using Clenzoil for sometime and does a great job

Pictures of this revolver are great. Throats of about .411" look perfect too. Looks like Kyle has added another beauty and likely a shooter. Congratulations, bet it's nice. I'm probably not the only one who'd like a range report when you get it to the range.

I may just be a hillbilly, but I keep a rag whetted in diesel fuel for wiping down my blued weapons. Takes off carbon fouling well and protects the finish. Not really much "diesel" left on it once it gasses off for a month or so. I dribble a little on it from time to time. I don't use it on wood grips though.
I traded into a Performance Center 657 some time ago. For all I heard about nightmares coming out of the performance shop, this one is a pleasure.

...and so how is that new .41 Magnum Classic shooting for you? No range report on the new 41 magnum yet. In the meantime I'm loading 215gr lead semi wadcutter hp for GT bullets over longshot. Hope to shoot it soon and will post on here
