I've had a couple over the years and they are a great diagnostic tool. Yours is a new model and looks interesting. Also like the price and the ability to use it indoors. I'll stay tuned.

I went halves with a young friend for a Chrono last year. I also thought the "shocked and dismayed" thing was to follow. Not so much. Most of my loads were close to what I had in my head for them velo-wise. Short barrel velos is where I learned somethings. For as many odd and old cartridges that you (Tink) play with, a chrono a wise choice. Congrats.

It's going to be vital developing the .251 TCR, and I'm embarking on a project to gel-test a lot of old cartridges in original, modern factory and hand-loaded configurations. Naturally I'll want to chrono all of those loads too. Going to be using clear gel, and getting that set up is going to cost more than the Chrono...

Aye, and correct handling of the gel a pain. We had a Corbon rep come out to a 2 day course and he brought a big wooden box of free ammo to hand out and the needed stuff to mix up and keep chilled several blocks of gel each day to the range. Luck.

Luck. The Clear Ballistics Gel is slightly denser than the traditional stuff, but it is hugely less temperature sensitive. They actually ship blocks of it... and the good news is it can be melted and re-used.

I need a tripod for mine but not sure what to get This is the one I bought. Amazon LinkI use it for my chrono as well as spotting scopes when I don't need to cart them all over. Works great if you want to sit and shoot or stand and shoot.
