Nice pair. I got that same Performance center 625. That gun shoots GREAT, I shoot some IDPA wit it. It's one of my favorites.

Have had several 25-2s, 625s and a Taurus Tracker...the Tracker will not run AR....
As to accuracy, the two 70s vintage 25-2s I had were very picky. The best load was a 225 Speer JHP with something like 6.0 grains of Unique....
Currently have the Tracker, 625-7 PC and a 1917. Run both AR and ACP through both with very good accuracy and zero ignition problems...
Have one of the original Lyman/Keith 240 grain SWC bullets that is very accurate and even runs fine in a Kimber .45 Super...

I also have that 625 PC and love it. Thanks to some enablers on here.
Thanks, Buzz

Auto-Rim is fun! I actully have the Lyman mold forthe Keith 240gr. Bullet. I believe its hollow point and un-used. I want to take a doe this hunting season with AR cartridge.

One of my absolute favorite revolvers is the 4" 625-8 JM Special. I replaced the grips with my favored Pachmayrs. These revolvers (I have shot a number of them) seem to all have perfect cylinder throats. Mine easily shoots under 1" at 25 yards. Keep in mind, some of the later Smiths in .45 ACP will not properly headspace without clips when using ACP cases. The steel full moon clips require tools to load and unload. However, the RiMZ clips (polymer) will easily load and unload using just your fingers. They headspace correctly and are a joy to use. They are not quite as reliable in retaining the cartridges if dropped. They have more than one model). The Hydrocarbon/polymer clips are stiffer and a bit more reliable in retaining the cartridges if dropped but still load easily without tools: www.ezmoonclip.com/Of course, the Starline auto rim cases work just fine, too(:>)). Regarding the Taurus Tracker - as mentioned above, will not allow you to use auto rim cases (they use special REALLY thin full moon clips with ACP cases). However, my tracker worked perfectly with Starline .45 Cowboy Special cases. The thin rim headspaced perfectly in my tracker. FWIW Dale53

Five 45 ACP 25s I've owned from the 60s and 70s typically did not headspace well with my taper crimped ACP hand loads. The taper crimp created problems with the case mouth head spacing. They always worked fine with loose factory ammo or my handloads with clips. Ran up on a 25-5 (45 Colt) with a custom 45 ACP Cylinder that ran flawlessly with my taper crimped handloads and no clips. Well cut chambers work wonders..
