Absent yesterday with my Dad, BIL and brother working in BIL,s back yard? During a break I told my brother my 32 mag story. He spent 26 yrs as a die maker and 4 yrs as a wood model maker and has a sharp eye for line and alinement. As he looked the revolver over he said the barrel is over tightened and the sight is tipped. So I am going to make me some barrel block and see if I can turn it back. How hard are the the average barrel in there? And seeing that I loosing the barrel I was thinking about changing the barrel from a 6 1/2 to a 4 5/8. Anybody got a 32 cal 4 5/8 ? Clint, how is it shooting as is? Is it leading? Does it display a lube star? If it is a good smooth accurate barrel it would be better just to cut it shorter, recrown it, locate top dead center and drill and tap a new screw hole for the front sight. So much easier than indexing another barrel that may or may not be a problem shooter.

I can make you guys a dovetail front sight. The original is milled off and the new one is installed via a dovetail cut “off center” as needed to correct the rear blade. This is an excellent opportunity to do some sculpting on that clunky Ruger factory base. More, you get a blade at your specified width, sharply serrated, and set at an angle where you can actually get a really good sight picture. I’ve been waiting for somebody to ask... This sounds like a nice option! Pics? If you message me I will text you a pic Greg. I have too much going on to load one up and post it right now.

What's wrong with just getting a Ferminator Front Sight and getting a second hole D&T right behind the factory one? The sight would cover both and problem solved...
