Shooting is a strange thing, Our eyes change and other issues crop up with age ! I turned 60 last month, and am wearing bifocals now. My next pair , will be set up with shooting in mind, i need to hold my head at a funny angle to see the front site well. So after talking with Fermin Garza, (2 Dogs,) I bought one of his front sight blades for by Bearcat. mine is a lispys with the Adjustable rear. The sight he made me is just a touch narrower than the factory, Before i changed the blade, i could not shoot a group tight enough to bother adjusting the rear sight ! And that's at 25 feet ! I got the new blade yesterday, and put it on in 5 minutes. Back at the range today, shot 18 rounds into about 3.5 inches dead on for windage and about 2 inches low , The Bearcat is not an easy gun to shoot ! If i really want to get good with it it will need a trigger job. But thanks to Fermin ! heck of a nice guy, and his sight is a big help, i think with a trigger job and a new pair of glasses, i can shave another inch off the groups !

Fermin’s sights are the best sixgun money you can spend!

The Bearcat sights were a challenge for Fermin. We shipped a few back and forth while he perfected them. In the end, he did perfect them as I knew he would.
I'm glad to own some of his first Bearcat, Single Six and BFR Sights built.
Currently waiting on my third Clements 327 Federal. A blued Bisley Single Seven and it will wear one of Fermin's Sights.

I have one of his King style mirrored sights that heads to Friona tomorrow with a 44 mag in tow. I think i have 9 or 10 of his Single Six sights, 2 of which he modified to go on 10.5” Supers. Also have a TLA style front for a OM project.
I have an Aggie sight base that I’m saving for a 44 Special (probably) and it is gonna need a 2dogs blade once i get the height figured out.
He is a heck of a nice guy. Very helpful.

For some odd reason, the Bearcat front sights have not really taken off. I find that odd for the popularity of the Bearcat. I make fronts for the adjustable and dovetails for the fixed sight Bearcats. There was a learning curve to making such a small sight for sure but I have it now.
Still, it's July and most people are out trying to do the vacation thing. But if you ask me, now is the time to be getting your sixgun set up for hunting season!

I never said a Bearcat 327, I’m not a Bearcat fan myself. But I really like the 327 caliber!! In case you in fact do need a Bearcat in 327 John Powers will build you one. However with much hindsight we now believe the Bearcat is better suited and best in a 32 Mag instead. powersmetalworks.com/

I just turned 60 also. With Fermin's front sights on all of my single six 32mag. I can shoot them just fine. Then I pick up any other 6 gun with a ramp front and I just cannot see them good enough to shoot well. Very frustrating.

The eyesight thing isn't going to get better unless there is some miracle medical breakthrough. Just let me know what you need and I will build it for you.

Fermin, thanks so much for what you've done with your new front sights. I am still waiting on John for a 41 mag rebarrel job, I sent him one of your new mirror sights to put on it. Just got a flattop 41 mag that I just love but am cussing the front sight. We will have to discuss this one soon. Your front sights are awesome, thanks again

As 60 year old who has several of Fermin sights and talked with him several times as well, I can tell you you will go a long long way to find someone who cares about his customers the way Fermin does. A true gentleman as well as as a master craftsman!
I would like to nominate him as the master of “ SIX GUNNERS” because he has helped so many of us old six gunners to keep shooting!
