welp, i did IT again!!!! i bought some g96 gun treatment, not that i NEED it. i was perfectly fine with gunslick's foaming bore cleaner and ballistol. i was fine when i mixed atf and mineral spirits. what more do i need? they have g96 instead of breakfree clp. buy it, you'll like it!!! so i bought it. i'll use a time or two and then it goes on my shelf. and it won't be alone!!!!!
i have rem oil hoppe's #9 gun oil hoppe's #9 bore solvent birchwood gun scrubber shooter's choice mc7 bore solvent sweets kroil hornady 1 shot gun cleaner butch's bore solvent shooter's choice copper solvent sharp shooters wipe out bore solvent remington bore cleaner shooter's choice lead cleaner frog lube 3in1 oil rig gun grease teflon gun oil pro shot bore cleaner pro shot copper bore cleaner birchwood gun oil and there is few more to boot!!!!!
i think i got gun cleaner syndrome(gcs) to go along with rifle collection syndrome(rcs) too. i don't want to talk about gun cleaning rods(gcr), the gun brushes/patches(gbp) or the shooting rests and bags(srb) either.
i have a problem............

I also have a shelf full of alot of the same stuff. Now that I don’t have any problem guns, and only shoot cast, it seems that I only use hoppes bore solvent and hoppes gun oil. Well every once in a while, I use some kroil.

All I use is boretech solvents and weapon shield gun oil. You should probably give those a try

What's the best stuff to get leading out of a stainless barrel ?? A copper chore boy wrapped over an old brush for 60 seconds and a light protective coating of Ed’s Red when your done.

What's the best stuff to get leading out of a stainless barrel ?? The chore boy mentioned works well and I keep some on hand. But my brand new S&W 617 was leading really bad when I first bought it. I think it was an ammo issue, as it hasnt leaded with different ammo since. But, I saturated the bore with Kroil and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I then ran a patch down the barrel and the lead inside came right out. Ive never seen anything like it before.

Chore boy and Kroil . Thanks ! That's what I needed to know . My Bisley hasn't leaded hardly at all shooting the Miha 45 Ruger boolit. Even tho it's a gas check boolit with no gas checks. But my 480 leaded worse than I originally thot. I need to get a Lee push thru sizer and gas checks for both. And powder coating . But at this time I don't have any time to do so.

yesterday i used g96 on my 93 mauser, 98 mauser(bought both at auction) and mossberg 500(12ga). i am impressed is all i got to say. it removed rust, cosmaline and all others. just a squirt of g96 and 0000 steel wool and i was amazed at my guns. g96 has a place on my reloading table, between ballistol and gunslick foaming bore cleaner.
the mossberg 500 was a piece of rust. i found her really deep between the corners in my gun safe. i forgot about her. 10-15 years of forgetting. i can't remember when i put an oily rag to her. but all is not lost!!!! g96 to the rescue!!!!! she is clean and able. i gave her to my oldest son to slay ringnecks, grouse, squirrels and whatever else he comes across. its a good shootin gun with rem heavy game loads #6's. it deserves to be out in light, not tucked away in my safe. besides, what good is it to have a one armed guy(me!!!) that can't shuck shells!!!

I love G96, it smells a little like egg nog and reminds me of my childhood. As a kid we never had it at home, I guess no one sold it around here. But I can still remember my dad buying a can of it at a small gun shop upstate and leaving it at my grandfathers hunting cabin. The place I did all my shooting as a child and still my favorite place to be in the whole world. Whenever I smell it, it reminds me of that. I use it at home now more than any other oil (and I too use many many things) but I always keep a can up at the cabin.

I'm pretty fond of the old Lewis Lead remover for leaded handgun bbls.
