Also doing one with different barrel dimensions for available jacketed bullets. Hopefully, all my madness will eventually make some sense... This one has the bore lapped and polished nice and shiney. Ditto on the forcing cone and cylinder throats. Why not build just one gun with the "jacked dimensions" you mention and size your cast bullets accordingly? Of course, I know the obvious answer.......

You all know me too well to ask...
The blued Bisley Single Seven has considerably tighter throats, so it was the logical choice for jacketed bullets.
These guns are highly underrated in my opinion. Today at the bench just solidified that belief.
The Stainless Gun that Dave just finished has the best trigger of any revolver I've ever fired.

This thing looks great, the .327 in this barrel length should run some outstanding velocity numbers. Interestingly enough, I think it was Brian Pearce that did an article on single sevens and found very little velocity gain from the 4 5/8" to 7.5" barrel.
Me, I'm tempted to hang a 10.5" barrel on my most recent Single Six in .32 H&R and a Bisley grip frame just cuz the kids liked shooting my 9.5" Single Six convertible so much. Might be even better to do the same to my Blackhawk,
Encore64, nice, I like!

Lots of variables in the testing. Barrel gap, barrel quality and dimensions, powder used and so on. With factory ammo, the barrel length was a small factor. If you'll remember, the 327 Federal was introduced in the short barrel SP101. Factory ammo was loaded to perform in short barrels. Ammo loaded with magnum powder shows 25-40 fps increase per inch of barrel.

Huey, you just keep the love affair of 32's and small bores alive an interesting! Thanks Thank You!!! The gentlemen on this forum are no small part of this. Even those who don't build customs or buy smallbores constantly post great ideas. It's fun to work with gunsmiths to bring some of these great ideas to life...

Has the Cresent ER and is set up for cast bullets. Talk to me about the Crescent ejector rod. Is that off of the Vaquero, or an after-market part, or a custom made item? I like that a lot, definitely looks better than the stock one on the Single Seven.

Huey....
I blame you for my purchase of two of the new production .32 H&R bisley Single Sixes yesterday!
They will be "bastardized" of course.

Its an aftermarket part. I realize it doesn't change or improve function, but sometimes I do things just because.

Huey.... I blame you for my purchase of two of the new production .32 H&R bisley Single Sixes yesterday! They will be "bastardized" of course. I will gladly take the blame for this. Those are highest on my list of small game guns. They have one characteristic that gives them the edge. The combination of case and cylinder length allow the use of the GT 115 grn HP Bullets. It's by far my favorite bullet for small game hunting...

Got an email late yesterday evening from Dave Clements. It seems my Custom Single Seven is finished. Gun is stainless and full Bisley. Barrel is 7.5" and will come with all Dave's Accuracy Features. Barrel gap is set at .002", which seems to work best for me. Gun will have Fermin's front sight, matte finish and many other features. Dave even machined the ERH for zero pressure on the barrel. I stuck with the 327 Federal for this gun. The 327 Federal is a hard cartridge to top in this platform. In the coming weeks, I'll post pictures and range reports... THANK THE LORD IT DOESN'T SAY "BOOLLITS" ON THE BUTT!!![/quote Yahoo not enough like buttons for that!!!!!

That is a beautiful gun. Does it have the stock cylinder length? What heavies are you shooting in it? Deep seated?
