Not doubting you, I'm just saying I couldn't do it with a homemade lube. I'll never go back but I know that some of you are capable of doing it with conventional lubes. I'm pretty sure Lamar can do it.

I'm powder coating everything but my Sharps bullets, so far I have ran .310 bullets to 1900 fps from my 300 Win Mag, .377 bullets to 2300 from my 375 Ruger, 165gr from a 32 Special, and a bucket load off 115gr bullets at 1800 fps from a Marlin 32-20. I still get leading in my Bisley 480, which after a long hiatus I have picked up again, it may need to be firelapped, something I am not really comfortable with doing, but I am tweaking some other processes first in my loading to ensure that I am not the problem just blaming the gun. In my Freedom Arms, I powder coat, and then I lube, no leading, and a little bit more speed than just powder coating alone, I am willing to admit that may be due to a different lot of H110. As it has gotten more and more expensive to get quality casting alloy, PC has let me run more dubious mixtures with fantastic results, only downside is the amount of expansion I get from the WFN and LFN in the 44s, 45s, and 480.

Here is another trick if you are not getting good coating in cold weather such as in the Garage in Winter time. Take a heat gun and flow Hot air into the container for a few seconds, then quickly close the lid and begin shakeing. Do this about three times and you will get complete coverage.

If it's that cold, use the wet coat method.

Alox on top of PC; interesting idea for those unsolvable leading issues. Prescut That's a great thought. Even though I'd never used it I bought some ALOX to try just that in the event I run into leading issues.

I don’t know if it helps, but it couldn’t hurt, I have a batch of .308, 375’s all gas checked and powder coated that I laid out on foil and brushed on Lee Alox. I heated the bottle, used a little model brush, and coated the groves, then after they sit and gel up, I run them thru the same sizing die, then it perfectly fills the groves. A little extra work, but at 300 Win Mag and 375 H&H velocities in my pistols, it gives me a little extra insurance.

Yeah, I was thinking if I did use the alox, I'd come up with a way to protect the bullet nose that sticks out of the case if not for anything else than to not see lube.

Everything I tried powder coating on after the first couple hundred got sized on the 450 anyway, so why not go ahead and put a little lube on?
I didn't like the push through sizers, so went back to the 450. They were quick after I figured out to use a little case lube on the bullet, but I am a creature of habits when I reload. Plus the 450 is as relaxing as the old 45 was. Might even modernize and get a 4500 with the heater one day in stead of the family dollar tiny space heater I use to warm the 450 AND myself in the winter.

I tried alox on a couple of bullets for my .480 after protecting the nose to keep them dry and concluded that unless they are used right away handling treated bullets is a snotty mess. Not for me.

I laid out about 100 sized, PC bullets out on wax paper, and used a small model brush, with warmed Alox, and brushed it only on the groove area, let dry, roll them over do the other side. A little tedious, but I was doing other things while they cooled and dried. Then pushed them all thru the Lee sizer again. It left a easy to handle, cleaner bullet
