24-25 caliber sounds like the sweet spot for Pronghorn. JDJ seems to really have squeezed everything possible out of a Contender.
Nice goats and good shooting!

Nice Pronghorns Ken! I also liked he 25 caliber guns & used them a lot. The one TC I still have is a 25 TCU & using 70 gr Sierra's or 85 gr Nosler BT's it's a dandy caliber from Rock Chucks up to Pronghorn & deer. A good friend just bought a 257 JDJ, we fire formed some brass last week, nice shooting gun.

I've used mine a lot, Dick. Prairie dogs on up. GREAT cartridge! I use 100gr. Hornady spire points or 100 gr. Nosler BT's for everything. They shoot to the same POI out to 300 yds

My one and only goat was taken with a .257 Roberts in a Remington 700 Classic. It was between 250 and 300 yards. I was using a 115gr Nosler Ballistic Tip at about 2950 fps if memory serves. Eastern Montana.
