I am new to the SA game and have learned a lot on this site. Is there a trick to getting grips off of a grip frame ? I had JRH do a grip frame mod on a SBH. It came back with world-class grips. Since receipt back, I've not taken the grips off. Today I tried my best to get them off the frame...with negative results. Appreciate the help.

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO TAKE THEM OFF?? IF YOU MUST TAKE THEM OFF, LOOSEN THE GRIP SCREW AND THEN TAP IT GENTLY TO PUSH THE OPPOSITE PANEL OFF. ONLY IF YOU MUST AND I CAN'T THINK OF ANY REASON FOR DOING SO.

Thank you Mr. Taffin. I'll leave them in place for now. The gun has gotten pretty dirty and I was trying to get a good cleaning done.

I do exactly as JT- back the screw out, give it a tap to loosed the opposite panel, once it's removed flip the gun over and tap the other off from the inside.
Grips come off occasionally for action work, spring swaps, free spinning the pawl, grip frame swaps, etc. It doesn't really give you access to much you need to clean though, unless your gun is submerged.
