How pleasing to see grain and color in your Ironwood. When I work it I get my best color at a fairly coarse sand level (think 220 ) . As I go finer it just gets darker till at 600 grit it's almost black with some streaks. May have more to do with my standard source for Ironwood which is usually damaged Seri Indian/Mexican wood carvings(fairly common around here). Wood is from northern Mexico and may be a little different. Hmmmm, may have to harvest some from some local trees.
