i have an win m94(1973) in 30-30 that definitely needs some cerakote. when thats done then its going to JES and he'll make a 35-30/30 win. when thats done, i want to use a "red dot" sight. since the rifle is top eject and i abhor a side scope mount, i would like to go with the pearsons no drill mount and a see all sight. does anybody use this? what do you think? www.mod94scoperail.com/seeallopensight.com/

I bought a "See All" sight... did not work for me... tried it on both rifle & handgun... ended up selling it at the next gun show, for half what I paid for it

I put one of the Winchester 94 rails on my sons rifle and mounted small red dot, it shoots pretty well. I have no experience with the sight system in the link.

I've never seen one of these. I mounted a Bushnell TRS25 on my AR. It is really a very easy and fast sight to use and it was only around $62. But I think you are on the right track with a 35/30-30 with a rail and an optical no magnification sight.

I would save a bunch of money and just find a Marlin 336 in 35 rem. But that would be a microgroove and not so much for cast bullets.

I wouldn't let microgroove rifling scare me off buying a Marlin. If you Google around a bit you can find plenty of people who use cast bullets in Marlins with good results. Here is one. ...link...

but i wanna wildcat!!!!! i have killed with the 30-30 more deer and groundhogs than i can count. a 35 rem in a marlin is a good gun, but i'm am winchester lever rifle guy. the only j-words i use is a 140gr sst in 270 and a 34gr hp in 20 vartarg and i haven't used my 270 for about 5 or 6 years. and, of course, i wanna wildcat!!!!!

🙈😱 The way of The Wildcater is hard ;-) If the 35 30 30 will do similarly to the 35 Remington then from a performance standpoint its understandable.

Sounds as if you are set on a winnie 94. See if you can find a scout type mount for a MRDS. Small and compact.
ETA: Looks like that Pearson would do the trick. That'll be a fast set up in dark timber.

The only thing I see that I don't like about the 35 Remington is the brass supply. It has become too seasonable. For one of the most often used calibers back east it's hard to believe how hard brass is to come by.
I wouldn't micro-groove rifling stop me from shooting cast through it. The main issue is sizing the bullets correctly for micro-groove.
