www.gunbroker.com/item/803776721This seller has been selling off IHMSA affiliated revolvers for a while now, some very nice and unique pieces almost always NIB. Stuff you just don't see anywhere else. I always wondered if these sales were related to Gates' private collection. The location of this seller is close to Idaho Falls. This is where my own personal IHMSA Super Blackhawk came from, I can't help but wonder.....

One need not wonder. The following is text copied from the listing's descriptive narrative:
"This revolver come from the collection of Elgin T. Gates, founder of the IHMSA and world renown big game hunter."

I meant my IHMSA Blackhawk came from that same seller and I was wondering if it came from Gates' collection too.

There was a nice 10 inch blued 445 that didn't sell at $1500 no long ago. I really wish I would have went with that one. It was a palmer gun but still quite nice looking

"New old stock". So it's a gun Elgin Gates didn't shoot. Heck I have a safe full of those.
