I never really noticed the hammer and trigger on my G2 Contender were blued until I decided to throw this 17Hornet barrel into the receiver last week. Actually doesn't look too bad assembled in "Pinto" form... Hoping to take it out after bobcat at the end of the month.

Hornady Hornet? I just got an ER Shaw Encore barrel. Haven't shot it yet.

Yep, picked up the EAB barrel from a buddy of mine who never got around to trying it out. Shoots factory ammo well! Gotta find a lead free load soon though. Hope the Lehigh controlled chaos bullet shoots as well as the V-Max. Here's another angle, just because the pic was handy... The little hornet stung this Texas sow pretty good last December (had the barrel on a blued Gen-1 frame on that hunt)... Hope yours shoots as nice as this one does D.

Outstanding! I have a Bullberry .17-223 barrel that I really like. Making brass for it isn't hard but still harder than buying factory brass so I jumped on the Hornet when I saw it. I have not shot anything bigger than prairie dogs with that Bullberry barrel but will be out after coyotes soon with the Hornet. These little .17s are sure fun.

Squawberry... I'm behind the lines in the occupied zone (N. Kalifornia) slowly tunneling my way back to Free America.
and, yes... everything is under attack here.
I'll be sure to post pics if I get one. Bobcat/Fox season ends in 8 days and the group I was planning the trip with has dwindled. The weather is constantly changing on me as well, so I may only make it out a day or two solo.
DD... Yes they are! I also have a 17Rem barrel from Bullberry. I wanted a dedicated bobcat/fox rifle, so when the opportunity to pick up this barrel in 17Hornet came up, I jumped on it!

God save ya', man! I shoot a 222 Rem mag Imp for such matters. But my 6.5 Grendel is one of my favorite all-purpose setups

Not to mention, the little Hornet doesn’t give up a whole lot of velocity compared to your 17 Remington or my 17-223 considering it’s loaded with just over half the volume of powder. Still haven’t shot mine, as soon as turkey season is done though...

I need to get me some contender carbine barrels Matt I made a carbine barrel out of a 14” 7-30 Waters by having my gunsmith pin and weld an extension on it. Put on a youth model stock and gave it to my nephew for his first big game hunt last season. He didn’t have a deer tag and never got on an elk but did kill a turkey with it. He loves it. I’ll find a pic and add it to this post later. It’s so neat I did the same thing to a 15” .17 HMR Encore barrel I had in the safe.

If you go to that website, you'll look at the 357Max differently.
