I've know of Craig Spegel and his grip work for a number of years but have never found a pair for sale and with a 2 year backlog for revolver grips I figured that is one grip maker I would never own a set of his grips. Well, this is the second story of luck for me this week just like the Forkin 45. I just happened to see an ad for a set of Spegel N frame round but grips pop up for sale literally the minute they were listed. The seller said they were a touch too small for his hands so after the long wait to get them, he was looking to rehome them. One small chip out of the inside bottom edge on one grip but otherwise, a beautiful set of workmanship. Too bad I don't own an N frame RB gun anymore!

Too bad I don't own an N frame RB gun anymore! That's an easier problem to fix than landing a set of Spegel's! Congrat's on the solution to the hard half of your equation.

Nice grab!
I found a set for a good price to go on my 686 mountain gun that are beautiful.
They fit my hand well too as I guess Craig makes the grips just a tad on the small size. I am amazed with his work as it is top notch.
Notice the blind screw hole in the set Robb posted above which is a typical feature of his grips. Even on the secondary market where the prices are much higher than what he currently charges they are not a bad buy.
The set I found are R->Sq. I have realized I really don't care for the round butts on the S&Ws. Feels like something is missing in my hand.
Thus my search for an early 629-4 with all the durability improvements AND a square butt....

Beautiful grips (that checkering is PERFECTION )and just the kind of thing any Hoarder worth his salt would be happy to store till a proper "need" comes up. If you don't plan ahead you would NEVER find them when you have a need. I have realized I really don't care for the round butts on the S&Ws. Feels like something is missing in my hand. My particular OCD grip protocol demands that any revolver with a barrel length over 3" gets a square butt or converting grips. Longer barrels and round butts just feel like they hang funny to me. Barrels 3" or under are OK with round. Funny, for me that applies to all frame sizes, J,K ,L and N.

There are a few sets of his new grips on Ebay right now ranging from $300 to $400. He does beautiful work. Craftsmen that turn out functional art are contributors of the highest order to our addiction.

There is another pair on eBay currently since I just got 2 N frame RB guns I was on there looking for a set of Lew Horton that weren’t expensive.
