I killed my first Honker with one of those when I was a kid. I also remember shooting ducks over decoys with grampa and gettin so excited I'd slam fire it half the time. hmmm... is that a problem or a feature? I killed lots of ducks and grouse with that old Ithaca.

Have a soft spot for the M37's. Bought with my trapping money in the early 70's a Deluxe 12, vent rib etc., with a Deerslayer barrel extra. My grouse battery consists of a 1949 20 ga and a 1950 16 ga.. Both have had chokes reamed some.

My first shotgun was a 12 ga 37 in about 1975. I didn’t have the extra $10 for a vent rib barrel.

Thanks guys, this one is going to a South Carolina turkey hunter so it'll see some time in the field, after nearly 10 years in the back of my safe.

My first shotgun was a 12 ga 37 in about 1975. I didn’t have the extra $10 for a vent rib barrel. My grandpa started me out on his 1948 Model 37 12 gauge. Still have it. it has accounted for a ton of upland game and Doc O'Meara used it for an article at one point.
