I use gutted Stack On rifle safes with plywood shelves. I have an old gym style locker that came out of a local restaurant when it closed down. It has 16 compartments that I use to store and organize brass.

Tool boxes, actually the 84” and 72” lower roller cabinets, they have lots drawers and there fully lockable, and some come with real nice laminated butcher block tops.

I don't have many good pictures, but, mine are benches in my walk in gun safe room... the blue padded tops remove for access to the ammo for the guns that hang on the wall above the benches... the benches allow seating, or flat surface storage... they are sized to hold 500 - 1000 rounds of ammo for each gun above them, the bottom of the storage area are treated 2 bys, so the ammo is off the concrete floor by a minimum of 1.5" this provides a barrier to sweating, even though the room is heated & air conditioned, & there is a dehumidifier in each room... Blue storage cabinets under these rifles

Rescued an old steel cabinet formerly used to store supplies at an auto body shop. Works great, shelving is very strong.

Good heavy duty filing cabinets. I can open a drawer and see all the way to the back. I use the old card filing cabinets for bullets. School lockers or gym lockers with shelves added are great for brass. I also use the filing cabinets for die storage. Keep your eyes open there are usually office supply and school districts up grading or remodeling. Buddy bought sixty some filing cabinets for $2 each. Some were fire proof and lockable. He got what he wanted and made a profit on the rest.

Try to find some Vidmar cabinets. The drawers pull all the way out, and can be completely loaded with ammo/bullets while still opening easily. It is nice to be able to get to everything in the drawer, verses always trying to find something at the back of a shelf. In the past, I've always used some type of shelves, and they have been a pain. These are industrial cabinets, with rollers on the drawer frames, they even seem to open easier with a load. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for, each drawer can hold several hundred pounds. Craigslist can be a source.
Also, I use GI ammo cans for bulk storage. The problem with them, is I haven't done a good job of labeling them, and all ammo cans seem to look the same.

I use was using an all steel cash register draw storage cabinet, the type a manager would store set up draws in. I think mine would fit 15 draws possibly 30 if double stacked. Its set up on 4" castors and has a double swing out doors and two keyed locks. It shows its wear and tear on the exterior paint. I want to strip it, bondo the welds and put a nice paint job on it like a high end safe.
