Thanks, saw that one. I check Gunbroker & eBay daily... Not looking for an unused collectable, just one I can use for plinking sessions with some 9mm handloads.

Yeah, they're sure proud of the barrels and cylinders that they have for sale on GB and Ebay. Seems like one or two guys have the market pretty well cornered, too. Once in a while something reasonably priced turns up, but you have to keep your eyes open.

OM cylinders for Rugers command premiums. Collectors trying to return a package to original as shipped condition, followed by custom gunsmiths using them to ream to other calibers etc have made spare cylinders a costly item. I can recall paying $15-$20 for OM Ruger .22 cylinders,, and they now are approaching $75 for some. And as for centerfire ones,, the 9mm's are only a little cheaper than the 45 acp ones. I didn't look at the GB one,, but OM cylinders are usually $100 & up when found.
Edit; I just looked at the GB one. At $145 total,,, not totally unreasonable,, to a collector who needs one with the box. Sometimes you can find them in the $100-$125 range.
I know I buy them anytime I can when under $75. Heck, I gave $25 for one, that had light rust and some pitting. Cleaned it up as best I could,, w/o turning it down any. Truly a shooter grade,, but still a good one to get.

How can I tell the difference between an old and a new model cylinder? I have a 9mm cylinder that is too short for my full size new blackhawks and I have questioned whether it is from mid frame new blackhawk, or an old model? If it's an old model, you're welcome to have first crack at it.

OMBH and NMBH cylinders in 45acp are expensive on GB and EBaY usually $250 avg. Price. Not always but usually. New and old model 9mm usually in good condition run $150 avg. Old model recessed cylinder are pricey all the time , IMO. That's my 2 cents
