Axhandle -maybe they did. I had the 10 in my hand, and it was like your picture. He grabbed a different gun and said it was a 44 special. He opened it up and held it. The forcing cone on that one, looked about the same as the one I was holding. But it looked like someone took an angle grinder to it. It wasn't flat, and it was burred and gouged. When I pointed out the crappy forcing cone, they put it away.
I would also have to agree with a 69 in 41 mag. I would buy one

I've resisted the idea of using auto pistol cartridges in revolvers, but lately I'm wondering... Since they headspace on moon clips, couldn't you put a revolver-type roll or factory crimp on the cases and seat the bullets out toward the cylinder length? My GP-100 .327 Fed has a 1.6" length cylinder, which would theoretically allow seating 10mm bullets out to 0.57 or so.

BC... that would depend on the headspace ( I have a S&W 610 ) Thinking most moon clip 10's still head space on the case mouths & the moon clip only really comes into play with ejection
I've already gotten about 500 - 10 mm rimmed cases made, & Dave Clements will be converting my 357 GP to a 10 mm rimmed revolver no moon clips required

sorry mine are only 10 mm rimmed, they were made out of 41 special cases... my old GP, will be reworked by Dave Clements to use the 10 mm rimmed cases, without moon clips...
the autorim cases ( at least the 45 Autorim ) used rims as thick as the base, plus the moon clip, nearly twice the thickness of a standard case rim... I honestly don't know where or how a 10mm autorim case could be made... even for someone like Starline, it would take special tooling... perhaps there will be enough 10mm revolvers to warrant a AR case... but I personally don't see that happening...

Not trying to be wise here, but what would be the point? Wouldn't it be easier to have a .41 Magnum made?

if the question was directed at me... you won't get a 41 magnum made in a GP-100... the cylinder is too small a diameter for the pressures... my understanding is, you can have a 41 Special made... a 10mm rimmed, & a 41 Special would be a toss up... I have several 10 mm guns, as well as 10mm Magnum, & 401 Powermag... so a good variety of 10mm bullets... I've not moved over the edge yet, & gotten into any of the 41's since they are so close, & I'm that deep into the 40 / 10mm caliber...

Just an FYI... for a starting point, my 4" Stainless GP-100 ( my 1st ever purchased handgun ) went off to Dave Clements today ( Finally ) took me long enough to get off my butt, & get the gun cleaned up, bag up some rimmed 10mm cases, get the order form filled out, & a money order for about 25% of the cost of conversion... gun will get bored to 10mm, barrel shortened to 3", billboard removed, action job, & chambered for the 10mm rimmed cartridge, not cut for moon clips... hoping I'll have it back for Christmas next year... I have a Ruger GP-100 compact grip, & hopefully will be getting a set of Spalted Maple grip inserts from Zane before the gun gets back... pretty excited about this project... I have lots of custom guns, with work done by my retired machinist buddy, but this is only my 2nd gun sent out, & the 1st from one of the big time builders...

I sent my GP100 away last year for conversion to 10mm by Clements. He quoted a year. It was home in 4 months.
