Bought a Mech Tech 1911 in 45 acp probably 20 plus years ago. The new ones are probably different, have not looked. Over the years have never had any problems with it. Loaned it to different friends that used different 1911 grip frames with it and never heard anything negative from anyone. As a woods gun on the deer in this area has worked well. Deer around here run under 150 pounds average distance in woods would be well under 75 yards. Barrel length is between 16" and 18" dont remember exact length. I scoped it a few years back. With any good 230 grain factory or hand load stays around 2" at 50 yards. I seldom shoot rifles, usually handguns or shotguns. It was well worth what I gave for it. Wouldn't sell it if I never used it again because it has been a useful, fun gun.

I was on Gun Broker looking for something built like you are describing, & nothing is coming up... maybe my GB foo is poor today... the 10mm is 2 rifles back, so nothing important right away, but I'd like to see built options that function well... years ago, before there were pistol caliber sized receivers... the 10mm AR's were not getting very good reviews for reliability... admittedly, it's been 10 years or more, since I seriously researched a 10 mm carbine... They are semi custom and only a couple of companies build them, here is who built mine RMW XTREME I have not had any reliability issues that were not ammo or user error. I have also pulled my upper off and ran it on a full auto lower (not mine sorry to say.)and it ran like a sewing machine thru several hundred rounds of ammo I brought that day. They will build it mild or wild depending upon what you want and from 5" to 16" so if you do pistol lower, NFA/SBR or standard they got you covered. They will also do just the upper if you have a lower or entire gun with what ever lower you prefer.

Yes, I had a PC40 back in the day. Seemed just fine to me as I recall. The only negative that I experienced is that when fired it sent a nasty shock wave into my cheek area. I solved that by applying a Pachmayr rubber skin across the top of the butt stock Not sure why I sold it.
