Hello All, I got these 2 new me molds today. I got my second Lyman 454629 and this LBT 451 340 WLN. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for the LBT Bullet in 454 Casull or 45 Colt. Thanks in advance. Boats

I use a 340gr LFN, on top of 22 gr H110, All I wanted was 1200 FPS from my 5.5” 45 colt. That load did it and was accurate. It is a RUGER ONLY LOAD. although I’d guess an FA would work as well.

Those are some heavy 45's. I haven't gone beyond 300 for the 45 as I don't need to for what is do. I really like the look of that LBT mold though. A bet a pot of lead goes quick.
I have to admit that I really like the fresh bullets piling up on the table beside the casting pot. It sure feels satisfying doesn't it.

Doesnt the LBT mold have the initials WLN on the block? Wide Long Nose.

I shoot a LBT 355gr wfn to 1200fps in my 45 Colt BisHunter. 19gr LilGun. Same boolit in FA 454 pushed to 1525ish with a case full of H110. Same with an LBT design 335-340gr.

Looks like WLN to me. That's a beast of a bullet! I have a 325 gr 45 Applegate mould that I thought was a monster.....heck it is a monster!

Awful heavy bullet for the .45 Colt. I shoot a bunch of .45's, it's my favorite and don't load over 300gr'ers. But, if it trips your trigger, take to it. That looks to be a heavier copy of the 300gr'er I load.

It’s what I carried in my avatar gun when in bear country, now I just use my lil’ 500L.

Have used the Lyman forever and a day it seems! With my we metal and gascheck seated they run it at 330-333g depending on alloy batch. Typically water dropped. Seat mine in the top groove over full case of W296 in both the Colt and Casull cartridges, very happy with results in both cases shot thru multiple guns.

That lbt looks like a monster, well rather a monster killer. Can’t comment on loads but looks like it’ll be besties with h110/296

I used to run the CP 335 WLNGC with 22 grains 296, a few grains more in 454 cases. 45 Colt in a large frame Bisley BH, 454 in a SRH and an Alaskan SRH.
I had those for elk, and for bear duty when fishing in AK.

I load 24.5gr. H-110 behind the CP335 WLNGC in 45 Colt. It is for 5 shot guns ONLY.

I love the 340 in both 45 Colt and 454, I have a mountain mold that looks pretty close with maybe a smidgen smaller meplate, and have had several guns that shoot fantastic with it. I loaded it in a 454 Super Redhawk with 27.0 grains H-110 and was my favorite load in that gun this was a typical 50 yard group, and would run under 3" at 100 yards occasionally 2.5" groups at that range on my good days. That same load did a little better out of my FA 7.5" 83, this was another 50 yard group although it shot better than the Redhawk, this was it's best performance with that load at 50 yards, I have had two 5.5" Bisleys that would shoot it under 1.5" at 25 with open sights, and my 7.5" Bisley Hunter shoots the same load 18.0 grains of 2400 into 3 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards or raged holes under an inch at 25 yards. I think you will really like that 340 for anything bigger than Whitetail and Antelope. Will add the other pics when post image is available again?
