Alan has been slowly getting better in so much as his daily fever has been running 102 like before. Blood results show no signs of infection yet his fever remains. The reason for the fever has not yet been discovered. The Doctor continues to run tests and we will just have to wait. They by now have pumped Alan full of antibiotics but still the fever although some reduced remains. He did sound a bit better and says he feels better.

Alan is being discharged today. However as I spoke to him it was clear he is not out of the woods yet. In other words, since the Doctor cannot find any infection, nothing further can be done for him other than a regimen of antibiotics which he can just take at home. He continues to have fever although it is not as high as before. He coughs quite a bit and sounded a little more hoarse today. He feels like his body will eventually fight this bug off. I sure would like to see him all better. At least he will be home for Thanksgiving!

Joe, I texted you his contact. Also I think JoeS has an excellent idea. If you communicate with Alan, perhaps a text would be better because he is pretty hoarse and coughing nearly every other word.

I pray Alan continues to improve. Some of those respiratory viruses are so aggressive.
