This one slipped by me. New model with half lug 5" barrel.
Found one at the gun show this morning. Clearly it's headed home with me.
Very well made with a tight. 002" barrel gap. Can't measure throats yet, but will later.
Front sight is the gold beaded Novak blade that I prefer.
Exceptional find in my opinion...
Range report later.

Is it the blued model, with wood grips, like these (.44 Spl and .327 Fed Mag):

Shot the gun at a short 15 yards and groups hovered in the 3/4". I'll stretch the distance out once time and weather allows.
Trigger pull was surprisingly good in the SA Mode. I rarely bother with DA in accuracy testing.
Chambers were unusually tight. Ammo needed to be lined up perfectly to chamber. Measured with pin gauges and only the .425" would seat to the chamber throats. Loaded ammo measured .424". Great for my sporting use, not sure would be my first choice in a defensive gun.
Throats were .401"+ but not quite .402". Should be ideal with cast bullets. Bore slugged an even .400".
Weight was 40.2 ounces with my after market grip which added 2 oz.
The ability to seat the 180/200 class bullets long make this an interesting gun. Some have already suggested a rechamber to 10mm Magnum. That won't happen with my gun. But, to each his own.

I seat 10mm long for my contender barrels and stuff in some extra Accurate #9.

5" my favorite barrel length, and blued. I have enough 44s, 10mm is intriguing, especially if you buy the Ruger 1911 as a house gun + field gun. Love revolvers would be "over the moon" with both.

So far this gun is out shooting my 327 and 44 Special GPs.
I'll do more formal testing and include some cast bullets.
Exclusive from Lipseys. If you want one, grab it.

Sounds like a winner and I'm very tempted by them.
Given the cracked forcing cones that have been reported with the .44 Special have any of the the 10mm versions had any issues? I know the 10mm has more meat but it's also a higher pressure round than the .44 Special. I started a thread with this question but got no responses, I'm guessing because they're not in wide circulation yet.

Sign me up for a 41 mag for sure. I'm not sold on the 10mm yet, they haven't made the variation I want

I’d like to see Ruger bring these out in 41 special. It would be easy enough for ruger to do in several models and if one of the Ammo companies would get on board it could do well.
