Recently was looking for a Tigre .44-40, bid on one, got waaaay outbid. Then started looking at any '92 in .44, then .38 WCF, pretty soon it snowballed into all kinds of directions, you know how that goes! Was looking at the .25-20 Win in a '92, then "discovered" in a Sam Fadala book of mine that Marlin made a run some years ago in the little '94 rifle in a couple of different versions, the basic, a Ducks Unlimited and some other one, forget now. Started looking around and found 4 on the web, at GB and others. All seemed somewhat overpriced to my old eyes, but I did email a seller tonight with intent to purchase a DU version, that was a little less outrageously priced than the others. Now before I did this I did also discover that brass for this critter is pretty much unobtanium, but Rem loaded ammo is available for but is somewhat dear, especially when online sellers charge a fair amount for shipping, it can quickly run over $70 a box of 50 shipped! Going to check the LGS tomorrow. Dies, bullets etc are no problem, Grafs just received an order from me. And yes, am aware that .32-20 brass can be used, sized down, but Buffalo Arms offeres it already made that way and a member here also put me on some paths to explore. So down another rabbit hole I go, but I really wanted something new to play with, and I see this as primarily a cast bullet rifle, probably scope it for accuracy, no plans to hunt with it, just a funner. Should anyone have any surplus to their needs Rem or Win brass they would unload, shoot me a PM. If/when said Marlin arrives I will post back.

I'd like one myself, but it's further down the list... I think it would make an awesome squirrel or rabbit gun / cartridge... maybe even coyotes if accuracy is good to 100-150 yards with the cast bullet

Got one of the 94's in .218 Bee. Would really like another or a Browning in .25-20 as well.

I have a very rare 10" factory Contender and also a 12" TCA Octagon Contender.
A 7.5" Single Six from Reeder and a Single "Five" from Huntington.

Nolongcolt,......there is a local pawn shop that had a 92, 25-20 the other day. Don’t know if it’s still there or price but if you’re interested I’ll go back and check.

Well that is if in fact I ever get it. I have had zero contact from the seller as of today and made several emails and calls. I contacted the site, Gunsamerica in this case and they just got back to me and said the seller has not logged in for some long time, even though they have many listings there. GA told me if I don't hear something by Saturday, they will cancel the order. Weird world out there. Then the hunt will begin anew. There are a couple others out there but for a few more hundred bucks!

An update. The seller finally got back to me today, been hunting in Alaska. So after all this time, he says, "oh I sold that one a long time ago"! LOL.

Well after a time consuming false start not of my doing, I have one on the way from another seller. Should have it in hand early week after this. Will update. Also the ammo thing. Classic Arms is selling the Rem factory load for less than others and with very reasonable shipping to total only $63 a box shipped. I could find no better deal. LGS prices were $69 and $75 before tax!

I believe there is a vendor on the Castboolits forum that makes 25-20 brass out of Starline 32-20. It's been a while since I saw that, but might be worth checking.
