Lee would it be to hard to add a lounge area to the website? That way there would be a place for non gun subjects. That way when you want to deal with revolvers you can deal with revolvers. Then if you want to deal with personal conflicts you can go to the lounge. If a subject looks like it belongs in the lounge then it can be moved there and everyone can still have thier say without interferance with those who are interested in guns. After all are we not here to disscuss guns 1st.

I'm open to the lounge idea.....the problem is those sections tend to be breeding grounds for pissing contests. If enough people reply to this post asking for one though, I'll create it. Thanks for the suggestion. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I agree with you Lee. Most of the nonsense from the lounge spills over to the rest of a site.

Well it does seem like the other gun websites that I visit have not had the pissing thats been happening on this site lately and they all run a lounge. When I had a cat we had a litter box and it worked. I've had my say and I wont say anymore on it.

I support the idea of a Lounge forum. The Single Actions forum here has become the default lounge, to the detriment of this single action discussion, IMHO. FWIW, when I visiit Sigforum.com, I rarely read much in the lounge section, staying mostly in the forums discussing handguns, long guns, concealed carry, and gunsmithing. Actually to keep the Lounge clean, we may need a Latrine forum, too.

I think a Lounge would be appropriate. It would reduce the BS in this section and those who choose could ignore it completely. FWIW

I enjoy the "lounges" on other sites and rarely do I participate due to the pissing contest potential that I could quite readily feed if not careful... I do enjoy reading what other folks think though. Sort of an on-line sociology class.

Lee,
There is a LOT of stuff in the single-action area that has nothing to do with guns at all. Hopefully, a lounge area would give people a place to post these off-topic threads and keep the single-action area more 'on-topic'.
As always though Lee ...it's your site, ...your call. I'm just glad to be here.
Thanks for listenin'. Shakey

I would say no. There are three days worth of posts on the first page so it's not like the board is getting inundated with posts. The Single Actions subforum has always been more of a general meeting place, which I would think was to be expected at SingleActions.com. Just looking at the numbers of threads and posts in each "room" it's obvious that most of us go straight here. I haven't looked at another in months. I'd say negative on the Lounge. Too many forums are too divided and lose their coziness. However, in light of how things have been going the last couple months, I'm not at all surprised. The feeling of community is definitely going away.

My vote would be for no lounge. Things can get ugly in those sub-sections.

I also say no. I spend most of my forum time on Leverguns.com. They have but three sections: General Discussion Classifieds Politics
This is sufficient. When we get into of topic subjects we just label them OT. Good enough.
All of the other forums I'm a member of except Leverguns and this one have lounges and most of the topics are just bs'ing and griping. As I'm getting older I find no interest in that type of thread.
Thanks for letting me say my piece.

I would NEVER go to a lounge. Call it a bar and I might show up.
