My wife and I were going grocery shopping today and decided to get some lunch first. While eating she mentioned she has been wanting to stop by the antique store aross the street for some time. There was an open sign and we weren’t rushed so we decided to walk on over after eating. It was a neat place. Full of ALL KINDS of stuff. Mostly old knick knacks and trinketts but some neat stuff. The store was split up into rooms, each having a sort of theme. I found one room that looked like an outdoorsman room. It had an old saddle and saddle bags, some old skis, boots, etc. I was just kinda taking it all in, amazed at some of the stuff they had in there for sale. As I turned to walk into the next room a revolver on the cover of a book caught my eye. It was a signed, first edition copy of “The Custom Revolver”. I was pretty amazed that I found that book in that shop honestly. I made an offer and she accepted so it came home with us. It is a neat book. You just never know what you’ll find.

Wow. All I ever find is glass junk and worthless tobacco pipes.

You just snagged the best thing I’ve heard of at an antique store!

Good grab, Joe! No matter how little you paid for the book, it will cost you more money than almost any other book you could buy! Tim

The craving was already bad. But I could definitely feel it getting worse as I flipped through the pages…

Read it closely page by page and a new and broader appreciation for a custom revolver will be had.

Interesting, what does that Bowen book usually bring, on the open market?

I've paid as little as $180 and as high as $525 for the book in the past. I bought one for each of my boys and a back up for myself. That does not include the original one I ordered years ago at Hamilton's list price of what was it - $35?

I have a hard copy from Bowen on my shelf, but the copy I read the most is the Kindle edition. Well worth the ten bucks I paid for it.

I’m at the lower end of the price range that Kings6 mentioned.
Like I said, the lady knew what she had, but luckily was not interested in making a killing.
