I have several Ruger Blackhawk holsters that I really like but few that work with a banded front sight, the bottom of the holsters are usually not sewn with enough opening for the tall sights at the bottom of the holster. what are you guys using in the field leather wise for a belt holster?

Barranti Longhorn companion works for me or Doc will fit you one perfectly for a banded barrel gun.

I ordered a holster from Barranti and specified that it would be for a Bowen Nimrod with the banded front sight; the holster he delivered fits perfectly.

I've had two Simply Rugged and a Mernickel's made for with VERY tall front sights, barrel bands or both. Just told them ahead of time, no issues.

I THINK MOST BANDED BARRELS ARE CUSTOM MACHINED THAT WAY, i.e. THE BAND IS INTEGRAL TO THE BARREL. IF SOME ONE OUT THERE CAN FIT A BAND TO A BARREL I DO NOT KNOW WHO IT IS.

Thanks 45man, I'm looking at probably trying to use a Talley band for a sling and mill a slot in one for the sight.
