Kind of neat. I threw a bid in. We'll see where it goes.

Well it showed up today. Gun is in great condition and is definitely one of the 455s sent to Britain during World War I. Only problem is it will not cycle 45 Colt cartridges. As soon as the cartridge comes around to go into the firing position, it locks the cylinder up. Cylinder has been reamed well, but evidently not shaved to give the proper clearance. Not certain what I'm going to do with it yet. I may send it to Alan to have the cylinder shaved, or possibly machine for moon clips and make it a 45ACP. Or just send it back.

Gunbroker seller has agreed to refund 125 dollars on the purchase. This one will be going to Alan.

This revolver will be coming home from Alan's shop in the near future. Barrel shortened to 5", frame milled to accept the 45 Colt cartridge (Alan didn't want to mar the cylinder face as it still has the original british proof marks), master blue finish, CCH hammer, trigger and lanyard ring along with Alan's action job and regulating the front sight. Pics soon!

I thought I did, but can't find them anywhere. It was in pretty good shape for a 100+ year old revolver. No pitting or rust issues at all. Still retained all of the British proof marks on barrel, frame and cylinder and all were sharp. If it would have been stock, I probably would have left it chambered in 455. But, since somebody didn't do the conversion to 45 Colt correctly I figured I should have Alan straighten it out.
