$1500 for the conversion and I bought an older presafety 1894 marlin from the outdoors trader for $500 plus shipping to jack and back. I need to check on this gun actually. He also has my 480 montado putting a set of buckeye burl grips and performing his grip modification.

I bid it to $1000 but it got to painful after that to bid any more. We don't have a couch, just a love seat. At 5'10", I'm too tall to spend two weeks sleeping on that love seat. That's where I'd of been sleeping had I bid enough to buy the Puma.

Don’t know what a Huntington 480 lever gun would cost but a Puma is no match for the quality and style My thoughts exactly! Tim

I love a Rossi and want one bad in 480. That said, I would buy the 475 L Ruger #1 for 1200 and a nice low power scope before spending that on the Rossi.
Thats crazy! Congrats to the seller. Bet he wasnt expecting that.

I'll just be happy with my older Rossi/Interarms 65 in 45 Colt!

No matter what you have to remember that a Rossi is a Rossi. You may have to put some work into it to make it work properly.
I scooped up a very nice 454 Rossi 92 off GB not too long ago for a buy it now of $600. I don't count on getting lucky like that anytime in the future.

I know it almost sounds ridiculous to say $600 was a good deal on a Rossi 92.

I bought a Brass & Stainless Octagon Rossi 45 Colt rifle... cheap & in near perfect condition... found out why when it got here... firing pin was too short... wouldn't fire cartridges... fixed that & removed the safety, & have a perfect SAS gun that matches my custom brass & stainless 45 Colt Rugers buddy bought one in 44 Magnum that wouldn't fire... rumor there was it had a 38 firing fin??? they can be really nice when "fixed" & slicked up... I'd take my chances on a 480... but $1,700.00 would be a bit much to have to spend money & time to "fix" on...

There are 2 different .45c rossi’s for sale on the cast boolits forum. One for $600 and one for $625 or $650 I forget the exact number.

If converting an existing lever action wasn't so expensive, I would think about going that route. There was someone on the forum that was working on converting a lever into a 480 a documenting it, I'll have to see if I can dig up the thread. I'm the guy that started the 480 conversion thread. The gun has been completed for a few months and has had no issues after a few hundred rounds. Total cost including base gun was about half of what the auction gun went for. Been busy with a move and some other issues, so haven't had enough time to update the thread.

I was watching that, too, and it got too high for me as well. There was another one on gb 2 or 3 months ago that also went for well north of a grand.
