Knock the 'corners' off of that and it'd be darn near perfect.

Nice simple, functional idea, I like it a lot.

Can you provide any specifics on the .480 you are customizing? ~Jason Jason, please allow that I’ll get to it in due time. Peeking under my skirt could be as hazardous as sneaking a pork chop off Sixshots platter! In the meantime if you could just buy say 10,000 or so of my front sights I might could finish one of my projects...;-)

COULDN'T YOU PROVIDE SOME REAR SIGHT ELEVATION RANGE BY OFFERING SHIMS TO PLACE BETWEEN THE RS AND THE BASE? Yes, HOWEVER, shims will require extra screws because every time you add a shim you “shorten” your screw. So when you finished zeroing your sixgun you would need longer screws so they would be flush with the inside of your top strap. You have a PM.

I've never seen that-one before, those are good lookin' sights! Shame how a guy's always two steps late for products like that, and the second a person (does) find out about them they're out of production!! I'd be down for a couple like that if I could get them.

Yes, I have seen the D&L unit and if works for you thats great. Mine differs in that the rear blade will be a broad flat slightly angled surface more like a silhouette style rear blade. To me this is more “at home” on a SA. This is not to say the end user could not trim mine down, round the edges, and lower its profile. I’m looking to give that guy who needs some more sight to see a better alternative to the Vaquero. I have a number of thoughts along these lines. It’s the ability to execute them in a economically feasible manner that’s the issue! We’re going to get there. Just watch! I have a favor to ask, please message me that picture of your 6 1/2” 32 with the new XR3 style grip frame on it. I lost it!!!

That would be about as foolproof as it can get. As said before round the corners.

Any more development on this one Fermin. Actually yes, and we are going to have to talk about this a bit. I have a good number of Rugers of various decades. The monolithic rear I made fit the newer ones however it was pretty oversized in the smaller ones. So, there can't be a one size fits all option here. Small wonder the Ruger factory rear seems to "float" in the mortise. So, the question is, do we make one small enough to fit them all and put up with some "float" in the larger mortise units or do we make an oversized sight that requires fitting? It isn't just the sides and the depth of the mortise, the spring recesses and the floor of the mortise vary wildly as well. So then the question becomes do we build the sight so the mortise requires "clean up" cuts in a mill so that it fits properly? You guys tell me!

Well. The original idea i thought was to build a sight that didn’t float. For rugged use. To accomplish that, it would have to be fitted.
As far as the cuts on the frame, i prefer to mod the accessory. Not the gun. Unless I’m going custom. Just to add a rear sight and nothing more i dont think I’d want the expense of milling the frame.
I’m guessing these will be priced in the $100 range, so add to that milling and fitting work, you are quickly at $200 I’d guess. Would the required work be something the average Joe would pay for after spending $100 on a sight?
