Got a call today saying Lipseys had a few Ruger #1s in 250 Savage.
Gun is a #1A but with an unusual 24" barrel.
Clearly, I didnt pass on the chance to add one to my collection.
Am I the only one that thinks this is a classic combination?
I have a custom #3 so chambered and a SSK 14" Contender. This will make a dandy gun.

I used a Rem. Custom Shop XP-100 in .250 Savage for a number of years. An outstanding choice!

I think it’ll be a nice #1, I hope it sells for a bit less than MSRP. Ronnie

I think that's an outstanding combo. I had a Ruger Ultra lite in .250 sav. back in the day, killed a lot of blacktails with it. It now resides with my 12 year old grandson, hopin' he will get his first deer with it this year. The .250 is one of my favorites and in a #1A,oh man!

I agree. My LGS called yesterday and told me it was in. So, you can guess what I did this morning.
Gun is simply excellent. It'll be a layaway item for me due to financial embarrassment. House addition has money stretched thin.
But, my LGS is stellar and works with me in every way.

Sounds like a great rifle/cartridge match. The 250-3000 is a fantastic little round.

The .250 never quite got my interest like the Roberts and I have a K1-A so chambered, great shooter! I also have a .275 Rigby No.1 that like the Savage, has a 24" bbl. Another dandy classic. I go from those to a 9.3x74R and then jump to a custom Kreiger barreled .404 Jeffery that shoots tighter groups than the smaller bores.

Fully understand that everyone has their preferences. That's the true joy of these Lipseys small runs.

Had to go over to concord NH near Rileys gun shop for a lawnmower part so I had to go to Rileys ,there on the used rack is a rem 25-06 #1 target blocks vintage 1975 looked to be unfired never had scope on it ? didn't need another firearm. Manage to get out the door without the gun but divine intervention had to go back for another lawnmower part and who am I to turn down that second chance. Ruger even drilled the missing holes. Haven't loaded any 25 cal for several years , Have to gather all brass dies bullets and stuff and see how it goes, Don K
