More danger of something happening to you in Downtown Spokane than Yellowstone.

I only ever came close to clearing leather out in the wild when a couple two-legged varmints tried to jump me and my fishing partner.
If you do best with the 45, I'd take that. From my collection, the 2-3/4" S&W 69 in 44 magnum would come along on the trip.

Am planning the same trip in September and my Bisley 4 5/8 45 Colt will make the trip. Strong side with a cover shirt. Life will be good!

I've had enough run ins with bears but keep going back because I love the wilderness, woods, fields,etc.. I can avoid inner cities or bad 'hoods because there is nothing there for me. So, plan, arm yourself, and then enjoy the heck out of Yellowstone. Two of my bear run ins were when I was not packing, I do NOT care to do that again. Warning shots were fired once. Other times gun came to hand but not fired. Think Sixshot is right, at first perception of a bear get that gun to hand, can decide later if it's truly gonna be needed.

Been to Yellowstone twice. Both many years ago.
First one, saw a sign saying Paint Pots that way or something so headed down that trail at a fast walk figuring close to road. I dont remember how far they actually were; but a lot further than I anticipated. Got there, checked them out, walked back to vehicle, drove a little ways to where a bunch of cars were parked watching a big grizzly bear. Hmmm...

I've carried a firearm in and around Yellowstone but never had a need to draw one. When hiking outside park boundaries I noticed every person I met on the trail had an openly carried hand gun. Never saw any inside the park.
For ease of carry, familiarity, and adequate power given the choices you've listed I would carry the 1911.
Enjoy the trip. Its amazing country.
