Good morning all, I've found with all of my Smiths (19, 27, triple-lock, & 21) that the most suitable grip configuration for me personally is service style grips accompanied by a Tyler grip adapter. However, I've always fancied the old adapter style that was optional for the original Smith .357s when they were first produced, perhaps best known for being featured on General Patton's Smith. Is there a modern reproduction option for this style adapter available, or perhaps someone known to build and then sell reproductions themselves? To buy an original often surpasses the $1k mark, which is a little too expensive for an experiment.

@burnston
I vaguely remembered someone on the Smith and Wesson forums used to make reproductions for N frames. Doing a little digging on the web it looks like Dave Ballantyne was the guy and merlindrb@cs.com was his email address. There is no mention of the adaptors in 6 to 7 years and I don't know if he or they are still available. Might be worth trying the email address to see what you can find though.

This interests me. I mocked up a set in brass, and it's doable. More work needed...
