So, that's it? No information on caliber, who the gunsmith was, what was done to it?

What is custom on the gun, It appears stock other than the Pachymers.

Aaaaaahhh!
Smith 66, 617 cylinder and rebored barrel?
Pretty much the same as the 16-4 I just got......except more durable....

Looks like a caliber marking from Jack Huntington? Looks like a great gun for small game and working on marksmanship.

Do you know how long I would stand in line for something like that? Days. Looks like a 617 barrel and 66 frame. I love the patridge front sight on the 617s

I didn't think S&W made a full length underlug on the 66?
Is that the custom part? done by using a 617 barrel?

That's what we're speculating. That front sight is what the 617 barrels came with from the factory.

First, I would like to thank Green Frog from the S&W forum and rjm52 from the single action forum, for there great write ups on a similar project. This one started life as a pre-lock S&W model 66, that Jack Huntington installed the 617 barrel, that was bored and rifled to .32cal. by Alan Siegrist. Jack also rechambered the 648 cylinder to 327 Federal. Been busy with work,so I haven't made it to the range yet.

Honestly that's very inspirational. I would love to have that exact revolver.
