Personally, I don't like that amount of end shake or head space. Even worse is the timing / unlocking problem. Dangerous as Hell! Contact the builder!

I am afraid that I would have to agree. That’s too bad but I would send it back. A “custom” anything should be tighter than that.
My guess is that between a possible lighter main spring. And Ruger firing pin MAYBE not being built for the larger rifle primer pocket being deeper. Plus the extra .010 of headspace. You just have a perfect storm for misfire. You might be able to put a heavy spring in there and get away with it. But that’s not fixing any of the issues.

Thanks guys. as you can imagine I'm very disappointed. it's my first custom and it's exactlly what I wanted built and I was really looking forward to getting It and using it. I already had to send it back for a broken cylinder gate a few weeks ago. he ll be out of the shop for a few weeks but I'll get shoot of him as soon as I can. a shortened bfr would have filled my intended use and been much cheaper and not a year wait. we ll see what happens. thanks for all the input and advice I do appreciate it.
