So I installed a TSOB mount on my FA 454, shot it a bunch then removed it last week when I sent the gun to FA for some work. I noticed that the forward part of the mount had been in contact with the barrel, the finish was rubbed about about .25" in one area. Is this an issue?

You need to ask Bob Baker at FA and/or JD Jones at SSK.

Relieve the underside of the T'SOB a bit ( a few thousandths ... maybe .025") The barrel or base is likely flexing a bit in recoil. Common.

The base appears designed for a smidgeon of breathing room between base & barrel. Any up-flexing pulls extra on the front base screw, while warping the base. Minor, but I won’t have it. Fingernail polish or soft Loctite, applied between base and topstrap countersink, and to screws, adds a degree of security and blocks out water. David Bradshaw
