OK, so I purchased a Bisley Hammer from a single six and plan to install it into my 4-5/8" plowhandle Single Seven.
I also have the Bisley Trigger.
What do I need to do to the Hammer? Just grind off the "oversized" back end to the same profile as the original?

That is about it. I took a standard hammer, cut the spur off so it would sit flat on the bisley hammer then inserted an action pin through the hole to make sure everything was lined up then marked the bisley hump and started working it down. When you get close to the line to where it will fit in the slot on the frame, install the bisley hammer then verify your contour line matches the frame. Sometimes the factory frame is higher than the installed hammer hump and if you are going to the work you might as well have the contours match as closely as possible. You may have to open the slot for the trigger on your grip frame to fit the bisley trigger as well.

I loaned out my cut off hammer and pin to a guy on the Ruger Forum to do this exact same thing and he decided he needed the jig parts worse than I did or I'd send you the parts to use.

Ya I know guys like that... I work in a pretty well set up machine shop so I can pretty easily follow your lead. I have a couple hammers I can modify so again I thank you for the idea.

I like to leave just a little of the hump, about 1/16” . The new hammers don’t flush out with the frame ears, and leave a hole. It takes some on and off to get it just right but in the end the details count IMNSHO. I like standard trigger in the standard grip frame, I do like to grind out the web and thin it up just a tad, again looks. Thinned up trigger,

Are the single six bisley hammers available again? I called ruger a couple weeks ago and they weren't in stock yet but told me to keep trying...
