I have been a pretty big fan of the .327 Federal magnum since Ruger brought out the SP 101 and GP100 in that caliber a few years ago. I got one of the GP's with the 4" barrel and really think its a great shooter. A few weeks ago I got a new GP with a 6" barrel and today I took it for a quick test drive. Pretty happy with it. I fired a few firelap rounds first, cleaning in between each shot and then had time to fire 4 cylinders full of the 140 grain sledgehammers loaded on top of a compressed charge of WC-297. Pretty happy so far and can't wait to spend some time with that load and this revolver.

That's great news. Congratulations on adding a great one to your battery.

Hooe to hear more reports in the future.

Nice gun...
I'm thinking about selling off an older adjustable sight 3" SP-101 and buying a 4" stainless or 5" blue. Already have a 6.5" FA 97 and a custom 6" S&W 53 and am leaning toward the 4"...
Just got my Sledgehammer mold last week and will be casing today...
A lot more fun round than the .38/.357....

Nice revolver! Mine has been flawless and has shot everything I have fed it from a 100 grain WFN to the 140 grain 314-140, they are not only all tack drivers, but all to the same POI! Heavy loads of AA#9 and H-110 with a small rifle primer (205M) have been excellent,, good luck with the new 7 shooter,,

I have a new 3' SP-101 fixed sights that I haven't shot yet. When I did have my old 4" SP-101 I got the best velocity/accuracy from 2400. I got to look at a 4" GP-100 in a LGS and it was a very nice gun.
