Thinking of relocating to Northern Utah, potential job in Provo. Wondering about where I should look to rent/buy a small piece of property for 2 horses and some hounds. Any help would be appreciated

Any of you guys are invited at any time! Property in Utah has went nuts in the last few years. My daughter & her husband sold their home north of Ogden 3 years ago when he transferred to South Carolina, it sold in 6 days & they made a big profit on it after just 2 years. Now they've transferred back to Utah & the same home they sold 3 years ago is up $100,000!! They are living in their motor home until they find a place they want but the housing market is nuts. I think down towards Provo might even be worse than farther north. The whole Wasatch Front is in a bidding frenzy for land to build on. If you don't mind going a bit more to the south you could look at Nephi. Traffic is bad from Provo to Ogden, once you get north of Ogden things settle down to almost normal but it's like the Indy 500 in between. I've always said that's where the Indy 500 drivers go to practice! If it were me, & its not, I would look at Logan, Brigham City or Tremonton if you want to live in northern Utah. And if you get to Brigham City or Tremonton you have to eat at Maddox, it's in Perry, just south of Brigham about a mile, you won't forget it, ever.

Thanks Dick, I have heard the same thing. Not interested in being in a rat race like that, but if this job opportunity pans out, at least I am out of New York State
I will google the names of the towns you mentioned and see if I can find anything that looks like a good place to relocate to. I'd be commuting to Provo, but probably at 5 in the morning and out around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

Robster, south of Provo would be a much easier drive & I'm pretty sure housing would be cheaper. There is a huge Cabelas to the north at Lehi, just don't go during rush hour if you want to get home on the same day!!!! Saturday everyone is fishing in IDAHO & Sunday everyone is in Church!
