The GP 100 44 came back in less than a week from Ruger after having problems with the cylinder paw not rotating the cylinder.
I guess they saw a headspace issue and fixed it too.... points for me
I only had 15 loaded rounds because i didnt get a chance to load some 44 special.
Here is the 1st 10 shots through the gun - 9 gr Power pistol with a 240 gr keith style Missouri bullet. 1042 fps - at 25 yards
Overall not too bad for starters.
Here is a 5 shot group with 8.2 Gr Power pistol - 936fps - I might try 8.5 then 8.8 gr
More to come.........................

It's a shame that a brand new gun has to be returned to the factory for major repairs... But it's good that they done you right.

But I have to say, with all the Ruger's I've bought over the years this is the first that had to take a trip for an out of the box issue. There turn around was excellent to I applaud that.

This can happen to any gun. Had a friend buy a new FA83 that had the cylinder bind up.
He was upset, but FA corrected the issue.

A company making thousands of a particular model revolver unfortunately occasionally lets a dud get out the door. My 629 just came back from a warranty return to S&W. The cylinder gap was .015+. They took good care of me and rebarreled it (paid FedEx both ways too). Everything is perfect on it now and it shoots great. Reputable companies minimize QC issues and then stand behind anything that slips thru the cracks. Glad Ruger took such good care of the OP's GP100. They are a stand up outfit.

Thank you!...looks like I need one! Yes, I totally agree. They honored their warranty and the only thing I was out was a few less days on the range.
